Lawton Sack, President
Lawton has been involved in Republican politics for over two decades. He has served on the State Executive and State Committees, as 12th District Party Chair and Vice-Chair, on the 12th District Executive and District Committees, as Chairman and Secretary of the Bulloch County Republican Party, and on the Bulloch County Executive and County Committees. He was chosen in the past as National Delegate and National Alternate to the RNC National Conventions. He has been a member of the Permanent Rules Committee and State Convention Rules Committee for many years. He has worked on countless campaigns for Republicans from the National level all the way to the County level.

He has a degree in Information Technology from Georgia Southern University. He has served the last 21 years as CFO of James L. Oates, III Enterprises, Inc., a commercial and industrial plumbing company, where he oversees numerous aspects of business and projects, including I.T., human resources, project management, and the finances of the business.

He also has Chaired the Bulloch Action Coalition (a 501(c)(4) organization educating voters on county finances and issues), Friends of the Statesboro-Bulloch County Library (a booster club for the local library), and the Open Hearts Community Mission (a 501(c)(3) homeless mission in Statesboro). He was ordained 30 years ago as a Southern Baptist Minister.

He has also served as the custodian for the alcohol for the RLG class of 2024.

He has the time, resources, and availability to attend all the sessions for the class of 2025. He has the technology background and political experience to help modernize RLG and to enhance communications between the current class members and the alumni. He also is not afraid to have the tough conversations with Mansell and others.

Jamie Christy, Vice-President
Jamie joined Schreeder, Wheeler & Flint as a general litigation associate in February, 2023. Prior to joining the firm, Jamie was an associate at a boutique personal injury firm, and clerked for the Honorable Timothy C. Batten, Chief Judge of the Northern District of Georgia. Jamie’s practice focuses on disputes regarding real estate, franchise agreements, commercial leases, and business contracts in both state and federal court. Jamie also has experience in bankruptcy matters, particularly in representing Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 debtors.

Jamie is licensed to practice in the State of Georgia, the State of California, the Central District of California, and the Northern District of Georgia.

She is a world class swimmer who has travelled the world competing in championships and competitions.

Jason Murphy, Secretary
Jason has been working in Republican and conservative politics and policy both professionally and personally for several years.
 
A native of Duluth, his experience includes volunteer, staff, and leadership roles with his local party and on local, state, and federal campaigns; professional experience in the Washington D.C. conservative policy community and in the Georgia Congressional delegation; and service providing counsel on policy and communications in the House Majority Caucus office at the Gold Dome.
 
He and his wife Joye live in Buckhead with their children Jefferson and Josephine, where they attend Peachtree Presbyterian Church.

Peter Thelen, Treasurer
Peter is a distinguished figure in Georgia politics, known for his unwavering dedication and impactful contributions to the community. As the Treasurer for both the Forsyth County GOP and the Forsyth County Young Republicans, Peter has demonstrated exemplary financial acumen and organizational leadership.

With a background rooted in finance and accounting, Peter has seamlessly translated his professional expertise into political engagement. Currently serving as a State Committeeman with the GA GOP, he brings a unique blend of strategic thinking and hands-on experience to the political landscape.

Beyond his financial prowess, Peter is recognized for his commitment to positive change and community development. His involvement extends to various non-profit and trade association committees, showcasing a passion for fostering collaboration and addressing the needs of diverse constituencies.
